Visual Localize is an intuitive localization tool. Here you will find some screenshots with brief descriptions of the individual product features.
Main window
One of the many advantages of Visual Localize is that the program is extremely simple to use as its user navigation is very similar to Windows Explorer. The main window consists of 3 single windows, in which all your changes are displayed simultaneously.
This screen demonstrates the importance of contextual information. It is impossible to insert the correct translation of "Portrait" without context e.g. in an EXCEL translation list.
The Trados® Translation Window
The Trados® translation window gives you direct access to Trados® translation memories. When you click into a segment, Visual Localize automatically searches for existing translations in the translation memory. You can click on the suggestions from the translation memory to insert them into the window "Translation of current segment" and modify them there. The modified translations can then be saved to the translation memory.
Layout control functions
Visual Localize verifies the project for layout and operating conflicts such as:
- accelerator conflicts: non-unique use of keyboard accelerators
- Cut-off text / labels
- Overlapping control elements
Double-clicking on an error message takes you straight to the error itself, allowing you to rectify any problem with just a few mouse-clicks.
Creation of .NET satellite assemblies - (NET) & (PREMIUM) Edition
Complete .NET satellite assemblies (*.resources.dll) can be created at the click of a button from your base assemblies (*.EXE, *.DLL). These can then be translated and adapted to the respective target language. This dramatically speeds up the translation process for .NET applications as no developers are required.
XML configuration wizard
Individual XML structures can be made accessible for localization using an intuitive configuration wizard which defines the XML nodes and attributes for the translation. Afterwards you can set exceptions and add comments to translation phrases as usual.
XML configuration filter
To translate special XML nodes and/or attributes, the XML file can be filtered with the help of the attributes being used (e.g. attribute: translatable=“yes”). This means that later only certain XML nodes or attributes can be translated in the XML file.
Compiled help files (*.CHM)
Compiled online help files (*.chm files that have been created using RoboHelp™ for example) can be translated in Visual Localize’s HTML editor. The result that is to be expected is shown immediately by the real-time preview function. Visual Localize protects the HTML tags against any unintentional changes according to the configured tag protection level.
Statistic function
The statistic function gives you a detailed overview of the translation volume and the efforts required for the adaptation of the GUI. It includes the number of phrases and words, one-time occurrences and repetitions and the percentage of already translated phrases. To get a quote for the translation of your files, the number of standard translation lines (55 chars, no spaces) is displayed. For the calculation of the effort for adapting the graphical user interface (GUI), the percentage growth of the text lenght for translated phrases is displayed.
"MicrosoftTM Glossary2dictionary" Converter for Visual Localize 6 (NET) &( PREMIUM)
This tool enables you to convert MicrosoftTM Glossaries into Visual Localize dictionary files. Depending on the size of your project, you might get a high degree of pretranslation. MicrosoftTM Glossaries are available for most languages and include the textual elements of most MicrosoftTM applications. They can be downloaded free of charge via ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/developr/msdn/newup/Glossary/.
